![]() But should they? When do they means outweigh the ends? Should they have been allowed to do this? Science(!) and its means: How far can you go for science? The Think Tanks has done absolutely horribel things, from lobotomy to genetic experimenting, to further science. Obviously, you can help some of the think tank regain some of their humanity, but, as brains in a jar, are they truly human, or machine? Are the Institute's Synths more human than they are? Doctor Baurus thinks he only used his dog for experiments, as a lab rat, but you can help him understand that he loved him, as a friend. Humanity: What makes a person human? Is it memories? Then the scientists of the Think Tank are barely human, for they barely have memories of their past, and if they do, they are wrong. ![]() They believe they are, sure, but have they ever stopped to wonder? This goes together with the theme of letting go, and the Old World-New World theme. Spreading the faith: Are Daniel and Joshua right in forcing their faith upon the tribes. Is Joshua doomed to go to Hell? Does salvation exist? Are he and Daniel truly saving the Sorrows and Dead Horses? The nature of faith: A debate that has gone on ever since faith exists. Is he a coward for trying to reach Heaven and not facing Hell? Should he try to redeem himself, or should he have let himself die a long time ago, to face what he did. Alas, you decide, but should Joshua be allowed to live? He did horrible things, things too horrible to imagine, and only when he was burned alive and cast out of the union he served, he turned around. Redemption: "What is better, to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort." It depends on what you have done before you turned good. Dog/God might be the only ones not greedy in this DLC. It's gold, but most of all the feeling of satisfaction as he opens that vault. Christine's life revolves around Elijah, the greed of vengeance. Elijah wants to use the Sierra Madre's vault to horrible ends becuase of his past, the greed of redemption. Greed: All the characters in Dead Money have different kinds of greed. But should you? What right do you have to change people in this capacity? Why should you be the one to decide if it is God, Dog or neither who lives? Merge Dog with God, kill Elijah for Christine so that she can move on, trap Elijah in the vault in the hope that before he starves, he realizes his mistakes, that he should have let go of hist past. You can help these people with letting go. Elijah's life revolves around the Sierra Madre, and so does Dean's, albeit for other reasons. Letting go, and beginning again: Christine's life now revolves around killing Elijah.
